Salvador Dali

Salvador Domènec Felip Jacint Dalí i Domènech, Marquis de Púbol (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989), commonly known as Salvador Dalí, was a prominent Spanish Catalan surrealist painter born in Figueres. Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work.

Vaclav Vytlacil

Vaclav Vytlacil (November 1, 1892 – January 5, 1984), born in New York to Czech immigrant parents, was one of the forerunners of American modernism, working hard to bring autonomy to contemporary art forms like Abstract Expressionism in the United States. His works are included in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art and Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Fernando Botero

Fernando Botero Angulo (born April 19, 1932) is a Columbian figurative artist, self-titled “the most Colombian of Colombian artists” early on. He came to national prominence when he won the first prize at the Salon de Artistas Colombianos in 1958. Working most of the year in Paris, in the last three decades he has achieved international recognition for his paintings, drawings and sculpture, with exhibitions across the world.

Diego Rivera

Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez (December 8, 1886 – November 24, 1957) was a prominent Mexican painter born in  Guanajuato, Guanajuato,  an active communist, and husband of Frida khalo. His large wall works in fresco helped establish the Mexican Mural Renaissance. Between 1922 and 1953, Rivera painted murals among others in Mexico City, Chapingo, Cuernavaca, San Francisco, Detroit, and New York City. In 1931, a retrospective exhibition of his works was held at the Museum of  Modern Art  in New York City.

Remedios Varo

Remedios Varo Uranga (December 16, 1908 – October 8, 1963) was a Spanish-Mexican, para-surrealist painter and anarchist. She was born María de los Remedios Varo Uranga in Angles, Gironda, Spain in 1908.

Rene Magritte

René François Ghislain Magritte (21 November 1898 – 15 August 1967) was a Belgian surrealist artist. He became well known for a number of witty and thought-provoking images. His work challenges observers’ preconditioned perceptions of reality.

Born in 1972, Arthur Djoroukhian studied Fine Arts in Russia.
